Automattic for Agencies uses a billing system that is independent from WordPress.com and Pressable that includes Agency benefits such as bulk-discounting and extra features (such as premium plugins at no additional cost). Existing Agency WordPress.com and Pressable customers that want to take advantage of these benefits can request their plans to be migrated to Automattic for Agencies billing to enjoy consolidated billing, volume discount incentives, and progression through our Partner tiers.
If you own existing WordPress.com sites or Pressable plans that were purchased outside of Automattic for Agencies, we can help you move them into the Automattic for Agencies billing and license management system. You can contact support from within Automattic for Agencies to request that we do this.
Note for WordPress.com customers: We can only move billing for Business plan sites. If you have sites that do not have Business plans that you wish to move into Automattic for Agencies, we can work with you to upgrade and move those sites.

When we move the sites into the Automattic for Agencies billing system, your current plan expiration date is preserved for each site so you don’t lose any of the existing value in the plan that you’ve paid for. When the plan reaches that expiration date, it begins being billed within Automattic for Agencies using the bulk purchase pricing applicable to the total number of sites you own within the program.
Note for WordPress.com customers: Upon moving any existing WordPress.com site into the Automattic for Agencies billing system, it will also immediately count towards your bulk discounts for additional, new sites added to your account.
As an example, if you currently own a WordPress.com or Pressable plan bought prior to your use of Automattic for Agencies with an expiration date of September 15th 2025, then if we moved that plan into the Automattic for Agencies billing system for you, the following would happen:
- Your plan would retain its current expiration date, with a subscription valid until September 15th 2025.
- Any new sites you add via Automattic for Agencies will take this plan into account as part of your bulk discount calculation.
- When the plan reaches its expiration date of September 15th 2025, it will begin being billed via Automattic for Agencies. Because we invoice on the 1st of each month for the daily usage of all subscriptions in the prior month, the portion of that invoice covering the migrated site would be for the remaining 14 day period of September 16th – 30th 2025. In future months, your site would be billed for the entire monthly period.
Once a plan is migrated into Automattic for Agencies, you’ll be able to view its expiration date from Purchases > Licenses on your Automattic for Agencies dashboard. This date will be the point at which billing commences through Automattic for Agencies. This date will only show for plans migrated from the WordPress.com billing system in Automattic for Agencies. Plans purchased through Automattic for Agencies do not have an expiration date, as they can be revoked by you at any time and will renew monthly unless you choose to revoke them.

When we move billing for existing WordPress.com sites for you, they are automatically listed at https://agencies.automattic.com/sites.
For Pressable sites, please add them using one of the options at “Add Sites”, as outlined in Adding Existing Sites to the Sites Dashboard.

If you are looking for instructions on migrations from other hosts, Migrations are covered here.
