In this guide, you will learn how to self-migrate sites to WordPress.com or Pressable, and how to request an assisted migration.
Before migrating a site, ensure you have an active WordPress.com or Pressable hosting plan with available site slots:
Use the WordPress.com site import tool to migrate an entire WordPress site to your WordPress.com hosting plan.
To self-migrate a site to WordPress.com:
- Ensure you have a WordPress.com hosting plan with an available site slot.
- Follow the steps in the WordPress.com site import guide to complete the migration.
Use the Pressable automated migration plugin to migrate a WordPress site to your Pressable hosting plan.
To self-migrate a site to Pressable:
- Ensure you have a Pressable hosting plan with an available site slot.
- Follow the steps in the Pressable automated migration guide to complete the migration.
If you prefer not to self-migrate, our support team can handle the migration for you. We make a copy of the site on our servers, review for issues, then you can point your domain to our hosting. Our team can coordinate timing to suit your clients, and we can put WooCommerce stores into maintenance mode to avoid duplicate orders.
To request an assisted migration:
- Open the support form.
- Include the following details:
- The number of sites to migrate.
- The destination platform (WordPress.com or Pressable).
- Whether you already have a hosting plan with available site slots. If not, purchase Pressable hosting or purchase WordPress.com hosting or send a referral to your client before submitting your request.
- Specify if the site should go onto a license owned by you or a license a client purchased via referral.
- Submit the form. Our support team will follow up with next steps.
