Assign a Jetpack plugin to a site

After you purchase Jetpack plugin licenses through Automattic for Agencies, you can assign them to sites from your dashboard.

In this guide, you will learn how to assign a Jetpack plugin license to a site and how to download and install the plugin.

• The agency owner must be an administrator on the site and have a Jetpack connection to it. Even if another team member is an administrator on the site, license assignment is restricted to sites where the agency owner has admin access and a Jetpack connection.
• For sites not hosted on WordPress.com, connect the site to your Automattic for Agencies sites dashboard first by following the adding sites to the Sites Dashboard guide.

Follow these steps to assign a Jetpack plugin license to a site:

1. Navigate to Purchases → Licenses on your Automattic for Agencies dashboard.
2. Locate the Jetpack license you want to assign.
3. Click “Assign to Site”.

4. Choose the site on which you want to use the plugin.
5. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the assignment.

After you assign the license, you may need to install additional plugins if the Jetpack plugin is not available on your site already. Many Jetpack plugins do not require installation if you already have the core Jetpack plugin installed.

You will be prompted to download the plugin after assigning to a site if this is required. If you wish to download later, you can follow these steps to install the plugin on the site:

1. Navigate to the assigned license on your Automattic for Agencies dashboard.
2. Click the download link provided to download the plugin file.
3. Install the plugin on the site through the site’s wp-admin by navigating to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and uploading the file.

Once installed on a site with an assigned license, the plugin is fully functional.
