Development sites can only be accessed by logged-in users. Public visitors see a standard “Coming Soon” page. You can share a private, time-limited preview link with clients so they can review progress without logging in or being added to the site.
In this guide, you will learn how to generate and manage a preview link for a development site.
Follow these steps to share a preview of your development site with a client:
- Navigate to the Sites Dashboard in the Automattic for Agencies portal.
- Open the actions menu for your development site and select “Prepare for Launch”.
- Toggle the option to share a preview with clients using a private link.
- Copy the link and share it with your client.
The preview link remains active for 72 hours. After it expires, the toggle turns off automatically and your client can no longer view the site. You can also turn off the toggle manually at any time to revoke access before it expires.
