When a client parts ways with your agency, you may need to transfer product licenses from your Automattic for Agencies account to the client’s direct ownership.
In this guide, you will learn how to transfer hosting licenses, WooCommerce extension licenses, and Jetpack plugin licenses to your client.
To transfer a hosting license for a site on WordPress.com or Pressable, contact our support team:
- Open the support form.
- Include the URL of the site.
- Specify whether the client intends to continue hosting with WordPress.com or Pressable, or move the site to another host.
Our support team will handle the transfer from there.
To transfer a WooCommerce extension license to your client:
- Ask your client to purchase a new license from the WooCommerce.com Marketplace and apply it to their site.
To transfer a Jetpack plugin license to your client:
- Ask your client to purchase a new license from Jetpack.com and apply it to their site.

For referral purchases, the client already owns the license. They can continue paying through Automattic for Agencies, and your agency will continue to receive revenue share. A transfer is not required unless the client prefers to manage the license independently.
