Get started with a referral sent by your agency partner

Your agency has sent you a referral to purchase products or hosting for your website through Automattic for Agencies. Automattic is the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, and Pressable.

In this guide, you will learn how to complete your purchase, set up your account, and access your client dashboard.

Your agency sends you a referral in one of two ways:

  • Via email from Automattic for Agencies: You receive an email showing the products your agency hasselected, the price, and a “Pay now” button.

If you do not recognize the agency listed in the referral email, do not complete the purchase. Use the “contact us” link in the email to report the issue.

  • Via a link from your agency: Your agency sends you a direct link in their own email. Clicking the link takes you straight to checkout.

Both methods take you to the same checkout page.

Once you reach the checkout page, follow these steps:

  1. Review the products listed under Your order. Confirm the items and pricing are correct.
  2. Choose your billing term. Your agency sets a default billing period (monthly or annual), but you can change it using the dropdown below the product name.

Automattic for Agencies supports multiple currencies and local payment methods. If at checkout you do not see your preferred currency, and it is one that we support, please use the link in the email to contact us.

  1. Enter your billing information. Add your email address and select your country. Additional address fields may appear depending on your location.
  2. Click “Continue to payment”.
  3. Enter your payment method details under Pick a payment method.
  4. Click “Pay now” to complete your purchase.

If a WordPress.com account already exists with your email address, the checkout page prompts you to log in before continuing. Click the “please log in” link and sign in with your existing credentials.

After completing your purchase, you are prompted to authorize Automattic for Agencies to connect with your WordPress.com account. This authorization allows you to manage your purchases, subscriptions, and payment methods from your client dashboard.

  1. Review the permissions listed on the authorization screen.
  2. Click Approve to continue.

You are taken to your client dashboard, where you can see your active subscriptions.

Once you complete the purchase, your agency is notified that the products are available. They handle the setup and will follow up with you if anything else is needed.

You do not need to take any further action. To manage your subscriptions, payment methods, or billing history at any time, visit your client dashboard.
