Marketing yourself as an Automattic for Agencies partner

As valued partners of the Automattic for Agencies program, we’re thrilled to work alongside creative and skilled agencies to deliver outstanding results using Automattic products. With this collaboration comes a responsibility to maintain clarity about the relationship between Automattic and the agencies in the program. To help ensure this clarity, we’ve established the following external usage guidelines:

1. Representation of partnership

a) Agencies may identify themselves as participants in the Automattic for Agencies program.

b) Agencies must not imply they are official employees of Automattic or any Automattic brands, or otherwise represent Automattic in any way.

c) Agencies should clearly differentiate their opinions and statements from those of Automattic, ensuring there is no confusion about the source of the perspectives they share.

d) Only agencies that have achieved Partner tier status or higher are permitted to call themselves an “Automattic partner” or “Automattic for Agencies partner” or use an Automattic Partner badge. If an agency achieves Partner tier status or higher, but subsequently loses this status, agency must immediately cease referencing itself as an “Automattic partner” or “Automattic for Agencies partner” or use an Automattic Partner badge.

e) Agencies without an Automattic for Agencies Agency Partner, Pro Partner or Premier Partner badge are prohibited from indicating they are an Automattic partner.

2. Use of Automattic trademarks and branding

a) Agencies are encouraged to reference Automattic and use Automattic logos in descriptions of their services to signify the collaboration.

b) All visual representations of Automattic trademarks and logos must adhere to Automattic’s brand guidelines.

c) Agencies must seek approval for any usage of Automattic trademarks or logos that falls outside the scope of standard references to the partnership and service descriptions.

d) Agency Partner, Pro Partner, and Premier Partner badges for Woo, Jetpack, WordPress.com, and Pressable are available for use only by agencies that have achieved the respective tier status and have successfully proven that they have expertise with those brands. Expertise is showcased during the partner directory application process for each brand.

e) Automattic does not provide whitelisting services with advertising platforms (i.e., Google) for agency partners.

3. Approved uses

a) Displaying Automattic or program logos on websites or marketing materials to indicate partnership status, subject to the restrictions outlined in sections 1 and 2.

b) Mentioning Automattic or its products in case studies, testimonials, and service descriptions.

c) Agencies can state that they work with Automattic products and may use applicable Automattic logos in that capacity, even if they have not achieved Agency Partner, Pro Partner, or Premier Partner tier status.

4. Approval and review process

a) The usage of any Automattic marks must be submitted for review if it falls outside the scope of the “Approved uses”. To submit a request for approval, please contact partnerships@automattic.com.

b) Automattic reserves the right to review, approve, and if necessary, request changes to or revoke the use of its trademarks and/or logos at any point.

5. Responsibility to adhere to guidelines

a) It’s the agency’s responsibility to ensure that all usage of Automattic marks and representation of the partnership adheres to these guidelines.

b) Any deviations or unauthorized representations may result in a revocation of the partnership status or other remedial actions.
